Nothing says Sweden more than a red house and a Swedish flag in the wind. The Swedish red colour goes by the name of FALU red and contains pigment, historically originated from various copper mines in Sweden. Most well known is the mine in Falun, in the province of Dalarna.
Handstitched with the Aida weave technique: the Aida cloth is an open, even-weave fabric traditionally used for cross-stitch embroidery. This cotton fabric has a natural mesh that facilitates cross-stitching and enough natural stiffness that the crafter does not need to use an embroidery hoop.
